The Preparing for Adulthood programme (PfA) has been asked by the Department for Education to publish guidance on Supported Internships to support the roll-out of this study programme from September 2013.
Supported Internships are an education study programme specifically designed for disabled young people as one of the options for a transition pathway into employment. These have been trialled in 2 different projects; first through Project SEARCH as demonstration sites as part of Valuing Employment Now in 2010/11; and through the DfE-funded Supported Internship trials in 2012/13.
PfA are asking for your feedback on the draft guidance on Supported Internships. PfA would be grateful if you could take the time to complete a survey to ensure that they get this advice right for effective roll-out of this study programme. PfA would also be grateful if you could share this through any networks you are part of.
PfA recognise that employers, schools and colleges, supported employment providers, disabled young people and their families all have a vital role to play and would value your input. PfA hope that you can share this widely and that as many people respond as possible.
The consultation closes on Friday 21st June 2013.
