Healthy Lives
The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities carried out a project called Healthy Lives to encourage people to think about their health as an important part of life. They were concerned that some people were busy developing person centred approaches, but were not always thinking about health, and other people were starting health action planning, but not linking it with plans about the person’s whole life. People with learning disabilities and family carers in five different areas in England worked with health and social care staff. Creative techniques were used to get people thinking about how they wanted to live their lives and the role that health played.
